About Garn

A Legacy of Craftsmanship, Innovation, and Adventure

The Builder's Story

Garn Christensen was born in 1939 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Life demanded resilience early—his father passed away when Garn was just eight years old, leaving his mother to raise the family through grit and discipline.

Driven by determination, Garn became the first in his family to earn a college degree through the Army ROTC. He served as an officer before entering the private sector with industry leaders like IBM and AT&T. But Garn’s heart was always in building, not just management.

"If it's worth building, it's worth building to last."

By age thirty, Garn had launched his own business. Over the decades, he built successful construction enterprises while continuously inventing—developing everything from air-quality tools to computerized finance systems. In his forties, he turned his focus to building a mountain community rooted in self-reliance. The cabins and structures he built over more than fifty years remain as monuments to his approach: Respect the land, build with purpose.

Built to Last. Designed to Respect.
